Humber River Rangers
A volunteer community restoring and protecting the Humber River in Toronto through recurring cleanups, water-health projects, and practical climate action exploring the cross-section of AI, design, and community engagement.
Each year we'll celebrate the salmon migration with a special event to watch them return.
CORE PURPOSE
This project helps people get outside, build stronger local relationships, and contribute to environmental outcomes that can be measured over time.

As we clean and test, we also talk about climate change and AI-powered tools that can support local stewardship in practical ways.

GRADING SALMON
Canada has a long-standing government-run grading system, not a private premium-brand philosophy like Seremoni Grade.
The key difference from Seremoni: Canada's grades are regulatory quality-control classifications enforced by CFIA inspectors using standardized worksheets and sampling plans, mainly used for wholesale/export compliance and food safety — not a consumer-facing brand story built around humane harvest technique, traceability marketing, and chef endorsements the way Seremoni Grade is.
Grading on Pacific salmon is even optional in Canada unless a company chooses to put the grade name on the label. So there's no Canadian equivalent that markets "humanely harvested, boat-to-plate, ike jime-grade" fish as a premium retail/restaurant brand — Canada's system is the invisible-to-consumers backend quality-control layer, while Seremoni turned that same idea into a chef-facing luxury product.
